EasyBuild employee, Matt Tabbard met up with some friends a few weeks ago and agreed to take part in a challenging bike ride from Portsmouth Harbour to Lands’ End.
So, on 17th September, eight friends including Matt will be embarking on the three hundred mile trek, self-supported, and all in four days. Having given themselves only a mere two months to prepare!
They are hoping to raise as much money as possible for charity – the Neonatal unit & Butterfly suite at Basingstoke Hospital, to fund a key piece of equipment to assist in the care of premature babies and support the parents of little ones who sadly don’t make it.
One of Matt’s best friend’s son Jack, now 16 months old, was born at just thirty-three weeks and sadly lost his twin sister at twenty weeks of pregnancy, but the care and support received from Basingstoke Hospital was absolutely amazing, so they felt it was the right charity for them to choose.
Matt and EasyBuild appreciate it’s a tough time for everyone at the moment, but if you are able to spare a few pounds of your hard earned cash for this great cause, it will really help spur them all on, especially in the moments when they will want to pack it all in and go to the pub!
A just giving page has been set-up – Tour De Farce – and they would be really grateful for any donations whatsoever.
We will keep you posted of updates…on their journey!
